Turmeric root naturally contains only around 2 to 5% curcuminoids. A product labelled “500 mg turmeric” may therefore provide only around 15 mg of the actual ingredient depending on the raw material – the large figure on the label says nothing on its own.
We use an extract standardised to 95% curcuminoids. 175 mg of it provides 166 mg of curcuminoids per daily capsule. Both figures appear on the label so that you can compare them with any other product.

Curcuminoids are absorbed only to a limited extent in the intestine and are rapidly processed further in the liver. Piperine, the characteristic pungent compound in black pepper, intervenes in this breakdown pathway – which is why it is included in our formulation. We use an extract standardised to 95% piperine.

Why is standardisation more important than the milligram figure?
Because turmeric root naturally contains only around 2 to 5% curcuminoids. At the same raw-material weight, an extract containing 95% curcuminoids can therefore provide around 19 to 48 times as many curcuminoids as turmeric powder. When comparing products, always look at the degree of standardisation – without this information, the actual amount cannot be determined.
Why is black pepper included?
Black pepper is a common component in turmeric formulations. We use an extract standardised to 95% piperine instead of ground pepper. This makes the piperine content clear: 9.5 mg per daily capsule.
